[HAUL] oct.06.2014 -TheSecretLifeOfAKikayGirl

Hello everyone!!
I just had a fun day with one of my besties, Leonard (nicknames: jet/lloydie/bitoy)at SM mall of asia. We ate at ramen nagi because we were craving for ramen like crazy! Then afterwards we just roamed and roamed and window shopped. But of course I had fun checking out the makeup section or the beauty department of the department store. It’s been a while since I last bought something so I indulged this time and bought a few of the things I need to replace.

©       Sun glow matt bronzing powder – php299.00 – shade 020 deep bronze
- This bronzing powder is good. It does work its wonder on your face and a little application goes a long way. I like the case; it is packaged neat and sleek and the name of the product is on top so it’s visible what item or makeup you are using. it doesn’t have any pungent or makeup smelling scent (if you have used quite a lot of makeup of both local and foreign brands, you’re probably aware of this, that there are makeup that doesn’t smell good or has that as I call it ‘makeup scent’ that is not fragrant at all or is just simply smelly). The downside of this is that it doesn’t have a mirror and an applicator (or even a space for an applicator to be placed inside).

-this shine control powder does control the shine in my face. I didn’t need to retouch a lot. I attended a wedding and used this as my finishing and touch up powder. I believe it worked for me because it was quite a humid day and usually using a normal loose powder I will need to touch up most of the time. I only touched up probably about 3 times (but looked and checked my face in the mirror for a gazillion times),1st before I got out of the car, 2nd when we got to Manila Hotel for the pictorial and 3rd at the reception. This of course means that I have done all necessary precautions to preserve and prolong my makeup like I have blotted my face first to get rid of the excess oil before powdering up.

©       Volum’ express hypercurl waterproof mascara – php199.00 – black is the only shade
-tested and proven. For years now this has really been one of the best waterproof mascara I’ve used. There are local brands of mascara that say they are ‘waterproof’ but smudges when accidentally rubbed. This however lives up to its name therefore needing a makeup remover to be removed. If you try to just wash it off with plain soap or facial wash and water, tendency is that it will not smear your face (unless you rub it like there’s no tomorrow!) but you will not be able t get it all out. Maybe a few washing will do.

©       Eye shadow – php139.00 – shade 02 dance all night
-this is the first time that I have tried and essence product and I like this eye shadow. It doesn’t have any smelly makeup scent. It has a clear neat case which is good so you can see it right away. It doesn’t come with an applicator and mirror. It is cheap but it works fair enough.

©       Duo eyebrow powder – php150 –
-I am not really a fan of eyebrow powder because it can really be tedious when applying. It did work on my sparse browse but it took me a lot of time shaping and filling in my brows. It has 2 shades in it, a dark brown and a light brown. It doesn’t have a mirror but has a see through case and comes with a tiny angled brush as an applicator. A downside of this is that it can get runny or may fade out if not set properly.
©       Two way cake powder – php195.00 – shade 02
-this powder has neat white case. This powder comes with a mirror and an applicator. There is also a panel that divides the case into an upper and lower part. The upper part is where the powder lies and the lower part is where the sponge applicator sits. The bottom side of the panel is where the mirror is place. Some powders that come with an applicator have the sponge just sitting on top of the powder. This compact has a division and since sponge applicator can sometimes amass bacteria if not cleaned regularly or if left unused for quite a long period of time, this prevents the powder from being contaminated and thus safe to use if we decide to use it again.

©       Eyebrow kit – php169.75 – shade medium
-this eyebrow kit contains 2 shades, a cream dark brown shade and a powder light brown shade. This product is a must have for me since this have everything in it, the brow makeup, a mirror and an applicator that has tiny brushes on both ends. The cream eye shadow is perfect for outlining the brows before filling them in. I didn’t know how I’m going to use the powder instead I used it to contour the sides of my nose.

©       Liquid eye liner – php68.00 – black
-nichido has one of the most affordable and budget friendly makeup. This eyeliner is small and very easy to pack, can do wonder for your eyes and glides smoothly to prefect that flick at the end. This however is not a waterproof eye liner and therefore can get runny if not set properly or if accidentally wet.

Ö Reminders:
©       Always clean your applicators after use as or as much as possible to avoid getting pimples. These applicators can accumulate bacteria that can infect or cause pimples on our face.
©       Always do skin testing first before purchasing a product. A skin test may take a few hours. Yes it can be taxing but this is to ensure that you will not have any allergic reaction to the products that you are about to buy. This also saves you from spending money on things you are not going to be able to use.

This is all for now! Thank you for reading this blogpost!
